CMSMT specializes in training and preparing students for licensure in the field of basic therapeutic massage techniques. The curriculum is full time consisting of 3 five hour days or 4 three hour evenings per week. This is an intensive eight / ten month commitment. The prospective student must be prepared to fulfill 100% of the time set forth as this is a requirement of the State of Maine. Upon completion of this program, the graduate will receive a diploma and will qualify for a Massage Therapy License from Maine and Florida. Graduates are invited to sit for the National Exam as well. Our basic mission is to inspire our students to develop their natural ability to encompass the mind, body, and spirit connection and to heighten the community’s awareness of the therapeutic integrity of the human touch. Creative Innovations, Inc provides children's day habilitation services for children diagnosed with MR and/or Autism in Androscoggin, Franklin, and Oxford counties. Children’s day habilitation services is focused on maximizing the child’s level of functioning, skill development and minimizing inappropriate behaviors utilizing the families natural supports. We serve children 3-20 years of age. Habilitation specialists work one on one with the child in his/her home and community setting teaching life, social, behavioral, motor and sensory skills. Our habilitation specialists are trained based on the child's individual needs.

Career Transitions: Health Care Edition

Lewiston Adult Education is launching a new program for individuals looking to enter or advance a career in health care by earning a college degree. To help fill the need for qualified health professionals, this 14-week Career Transitions program will help employees currently working in entry-level health care positions as well as those looking to move into the health care field prepare for a college degree program in health sciences. This no cost program will allow participants to continue working as they participate in an academic refresher course, conduct intensive career advising, and take advantage of extensive mentoring and support services.

The Career Transitions: Health Care Edition program was initiated in response to the current labor market projections which anticipate substantial growth in the health care field. It is our goal to help adults transition in to a college program and subsequent career in health care so the demand for qualified heath care professionals will be met.
